The Real World: New York 1992 The Real World (retrospectively referred to as The Real World: New York, to distinguish it from subsequent installments of the series) is the first season of MTV's reality television series The Real World, which focuses on a group of diverse strangers living together for several months in a different city each season, as cameras follow their lives and interpersonal relationships. It was created by producers Mary-Ellis Bunim and Jonathan Murray. ---------------------- The Real World is the groundbreaking series that started it all. In 1992, MTV put seven Gen-Xers and a whole bunch of cameras in a SoHo loft and captivated the world with the birth of reality TV. Follow a whole season of Norman, Julie, Becky, Kevin, Andre, Heather and Eric, and relive the moments when you first felt the voyeuristic joy of spying on perfect strangers. Filmed from February 16 to May 18, 1992, the series premiered May 21, 1992. This season set the standard for a new genre of television. Get ready to get real. ---------------------- This is from a Standard Definition DVD. ---------------------- Season 1: Eps 01 - This Is the True Story... Eps 02 - Julie and Eric... Could It Be Love? Eps 13 - Goodbye to the Big Apple Extra: Original Series Pilot (Never Aired) *side note: I forgot that this show used to be only a half hour per episode (not like today's 1 hour). Also, who remembers back in the day, before cable blew up to it's current state, that every time a new season of The Real World was about to start MTV would show reruns of ALL the previous seasons; it would be like a super-marathon weekend or week
